Real bias

Here’s some cherry-picked stats from last season’s competition. As you told us which teams you support, we’ve been able to pull together some funny data…

1st Man City were left out of the top six altogether by just 0.2% of entrants.

2nd Arsenal were predicted to finish top by 70% of their own fans but just 30% of all entries.

3rd Liverpool were picked in 3rd place by 28% of their fans, while 23% had them in either 1st or 2nd.

4th Aston Villa were correctly chosen in 4th place by just 2.2% of all entrants.

5th Spurs were predicted to finish top by just 0.1% of their fans (and 0.3% chose Arsenal).

6th Chelsea were backed to win the title by 3.4% of all entrants last year.

7th Newcastle were in 65% of all entries last year but finished in 7th.

8th Man United were correctly left out of the top six by just 5% of all entries.

9th West Ham fans chose Man United to finish in the top six in 98% of their entries. Only 2% were right.

10th Crystal Palace fans were pretty sharp – 51% got the top two spot on.

11th Brighton were put in the top six by 60% of their own fans… and finished 11th.

12th Bournemouth were chosen in the top six by just 0.4% of all entrants.

13th Fulham fans unanimously put City in 1st place. The most accurate fanbase.

14th Wolves fans are the most engaged readers of our newsletter. 👏

15th Everton fans put Liverpool in 94% of their top six entries but just 1.4% put the Reds in 1st.

16th Brentford fans put Spurs in just 7% of their entries.

17th Notts Forest were picked to finish in the top six by just 2.5% of their fans.

18th Luton were predicted to finish 1st by just one entrant, who did manage to get Villa correct in 4th.

19th Burnley were put in 2nd by one fan. Mad.

20th Sheffield Utd fans, bar one, all put Man City top. At least they got one thing right last season.
