A trademark celebration

You’d think if your best mate (Morgan Rogers) came up with a fun celebration, you’d just mock him a bit.

Maybe do it a few times for the cameras. Give him a nod in an interview. Etc.

Cole Palmer?

Nah.

He’s gone fully legal, filing an application to trademark the celebration, as well as the term “Cold Palmer”.

Apparently this will allow him to sell more than just his integrity – including food, booze, aftershave and cars.

You can just imagine Cole filling out the application to the Intellection Property Office, can’t you?

Saints are Sinners

We’re getting to the stage of the season where you can look at the maths and logically think Southampton will beat Derby’s record.

The record, of course, is 11 points. Across 38 games. In 2007/08.

The Rams won just one game, ending up with a goal difference of -69. Appropriate, given how many teams screwed them.

However, The Saints have already won a game this season, thanks to an 85th minute goal against Everton.

They are also ahead of the curve.

Their 5 points after 15 games puts them on track for 12-13 points.

So the race is on.

Ironically, their best chance of picking up any points is probably this weekend against Spurs.

But we suspect they will still be on 5 points come January.

Either way, our pre-season tip for Southampton to finish bottom is looking good – they’re still a meaty price at 5/6…

Stack with Guns

If you’re wondering what to do with your FPL Team, stack your team with Arsenal players. They comfortably have the easiest end of year fixtures.

But do you go for their attackers or defenders?

While Arsenal’s open play xG is in the bottom half of the table, they are top of the set piece xG table. ie defenders scoring headers

And at the back, while they’ve only had five clean sheets, four of the last five goals they’ve conceded have been under 0.1xG. So they’re now starting to keep things tight.

All the evidence points to their defenders.

♻️ Buy Timber at £5.7m.

He’s fit, bombs down the line, scored a goal against United and is cheaper than Saliba or Gabriel (who may still be injured).
