⌚️ Chelsea have needed a goal scored after 89 mins to beat Crystal Palace on their last three visits to Selhurst Park.

🇨🇲 Byran Mbeumo has scored more non-penalty goals than Bukayo Saka since the start of last season.

✌🏽 Mo Salah is the only player to ever score and assist in the same game eight times in a Premier League season… and it’s only January.

🧤 Arsenal were the only team in Europe to go a full calendar year without conceding more than twice in a game.

👺 Man United won less points (51) than Fulham (52) and Bournemouth (53) in 2024.

🕺 Jesse Lingard was the last Man United player to score at Anfield in the Premier League in 2018.

THE BIG DEAL

Trent’s Bridge

It’s surely un trato hecho.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is going to be the next Galáctico at Real Madrid next season.

There’s no way Real would have made an official enquiry if his associates hadn’t given the green light. The noises are just too loud at this stage.

Nevertheless, this is actually an OK outcome for Liverpool, despite the insane passing range of TAA (see above).

Connor Bradley is a potential superstar in the making.

He had a much higher tackle success rate and made more tackles than Trent last season, as well as clocking up more assists in all comps across 2024.

If it’s true that ‘a good compromise is when both parties are dissatisfied’, then a great compromise is when both parties are happy.

THE BIG OPINION

Wild 2025 predictions

Do not hold us to these… 🔮

But we’ll revisit these in exactly a year!

So, in January 2026…

1. Man City won’t be in the Premier League. The players know, surely.
2. Enzo Maresca won’t be Chelsea manager.
3. All three promoted sides will be 18th, 19th and 20th.
4. Trent won’t be starting at right-back for Real Madrid, but he will be at the club.
5. Isak will be at Newcastle – he’ll be too expensive to buy.
6. Nottingham Forest will be 17th.
7. Sean Dyche will be managing West Ham.
8. Marcus Rashford will be on 10+ goals at another club.
9. Tyler Dibling will be playing for Spurs.
10. Jack Grealish will go another year without a goal.

THE BIG FANTASY

Encisive action

It’s getting harder and harder to find players who are actual differentials.

You can’t go without Isak, Palmer or Salah at the moment without risking it all.

But what about a player who hasn’t scored or assisted in the last two seasons..?

Bienvenido, Julio Enciso. 🇵🇾

The Paraguayan has made his only two starts of the season in his last two games – one of which he took EIGHT shots before the 39th minute, more than any other player in an entire game this season.

He’s incredibly talented, and cheap at £5.4m.

Definitely worth a shout when Brighton face Ipswich next weekend.
