The Premier League are running around like interns with a point to prove.
The latest hare-brained idea requires Clubs to choose between one of these three options, every week:
– Half-time interview with a player or coach.
– An interview with a subbed player.
– Live broadcast of the half-time changing room.
As if any manager is going to fancy a chit-chat at half-time or let the cameras into their dressing room. Unless his name is Phil Brown (see above).
Would have been quite funny to interview Matic in 2016 after Mourinho subbed him on and then off after just 28 minutes, though…
THE BIG OPINION
Tommy gunned?
No English manager has ever won the Premier League.
England haven’t won a major tournament for 58 years. The last five England managers have all been English, if you include caretakers Lee Carsley and Stuart Pearce.
There are only two English managers currently occupying the top 15 spots in the Premier League table.
And yet. And yet, people are still calling for an England manager to lead the team.
The narrative, peddled by Carragher, Neville, Wilder and half the media, is that the national team should be a full representation of English talent – including the manager.
Which would be to ignore the diverse mix of talent that represent England. Over a third of the latest squad were eligible to represent another country at International level.
Not to mention that almost every key area of British society is held up by immigration. The NHS, schools, transport, construction.
Yet you have the same people who rightly champion those influences, also calling for an England manager. It’s almost as if they want to make a point when it doesn’t matter too much to them.
But when it’s football, it’s full St George’s Flag vibes.
Nonsense.
Thomas Tuchel loves this country, embodies our values, and most importantly, is the best man for the job.
You won’t hear anyone complaining if he wins the World Cup.

Max Kilman signed for The Hammers for £40m in the summer and has been the standout performer for the club in his seven appearances so far.
Little-known fact: he is only former international futsal player to make it in the Premier League, and was the first player to go from non-league straight to the top-flight since Chris Smalling.
West Ham haven’t had the best start to the season, but he is gelling in nicely and they have a decent run of fixtures between now and the new year – at £4.5m he could be a decent player to have in your FPL squad.
