An IFAB trial has been going on in Malta and the u21 Premier League, with the aim of curbing time-wasting.

The rule states…

IF a keeper holds onto the ball for more than eight seconds, the referee can award a corner kick to the opposition.

If adopted, Arsenal fans will be licking their lips. 👄

However, of the 796 times the ball was in the keeper’s hands in the Malta trial, NOT ONE corner had to be awarded.

A rule that actually works! 🤯

Angina for Spurs

Four games ago, Spurs were just three points off 2nd.

Now, they’re 10th.

Life comes at you quickly.

The really weird thing, though, is the perception of the manager.

Three weeks ago, you’d have been been hard-pressed to find a Spurs fan say a bad word about Big Ange Postecoglu.

However, we found ourselves speaking to a couple of their club legends by chance last month.

Without going into too much detail, it was pretty clear that Ange isn’t that loved in and among the bigwigs at club.

Some are worried he’s over-confident (arrogant?), others say they’ve seen this movie before.

And now it’s starting to look like the fans are losing the love.

Normally it’s the other way around. Fans go first, club follow suit.

Spurs play Chelsea this weekend and United on 19th in the EFL Cup.

If they get knocked out of the Cup, the writing will very much be on the wall.
