THE BIG FACTS

🐦‍🔥 Liverpool are unbeaten in 142 games when leading at half-time.

🐝 Brentford are the first club in Premier League history to score in the 1st minute in three consecutive games.

🍻 Stoke City scored five goals between 43rd and 54th minute against John Mousinho’s Portsmouth. Costly half-time beer trip!?

🇳🇱 Micky Van de Ven has more assists at Old Trafford than Man United this season.

🤓 Arsenal are now the only “Big Six” side yet to create more than 5xG in a Premier League game in the last decade (after Spurs managed 5.33 vs Man United). The Gunners face Southampton next…

🧑‍🦲 Man United have conceded three or more goals 24 times in all competitions since Erik Ten Hag took over – more than any other Premier League side.

👑 Prince William was born (21st June) less than a month after Aston Villa last lifted the Champions League trophy (26th May), in 1982.

On Wednesday, he was at Villa Park as they beat Bayern Munich 1-0..! Curse lifted?

2pts 👉 Aston Villa to beat Man United @ 13/10
The prices suggest United would be favourites at a neutral ground, a concept that fails at every metric. Not least the eye test. This is a Villa side who are brimming with confidence after beating Munich in midweek taking on a United side in disarray after conceding yet another three goals at home. The only reason this price isn’t shorter is the name of the teams.

THE BIG DEAL

Transfer Diarra-hoea

Some explosiv transfer news.

In 2014, Lassana Diarra was barred from leaving Lokomotiv Moscow by FIFA, banned from playing, and ordered to pay the club €10.5 million. All stemming from a player-club dispute.

Charleroi offered to take him, but on the condition they wouldn’t be liable to pay the compensation.

Diarra then counter-sued FIFA for loss of earnings, citing the EU’s right to free movement.

Today was judgement day.

And FIFA lost this ruling. The ramifications are left to unfold, but we could be looking at the end of transfer fees altogether.

Is this The Bosman Rule 2.0?

(This article will explain it all better)

THE BIG OPINION

What makes Pinocchio look honest?

The Premier League table, of course.

We are just six games into the season, and there has already been so much reactionary bulls—t being thrown around.

So we’re going to make a bold shout.

Not one team will finish the season in their current League position. We’ve taken a screenshot.

A couple of the more extreme case studies that support this.

Wolves (20th) have faced Forest, Arsenal, Brighton, United, Spurs and Newcastle and haven’t played badly.

Liverpool (1st) have played Ipswich, Brentford, Forest, United, Bournemouth, Wolves and haven’t been outstanding.

Their current League positions are a mirage. And there are so many more of these.

The very earliest you can make any sort of judgement is after 10 games.

Another couple of teams to keep an eye on are Chelsea and Spurs. The West London Blues have had a good run against some weak teams, while Spurs have been crucified in the press despite only losing to Arsenal and Newcastle.

Four points separate the sides.

Spurs are perhaps overpriced in the Top 4 Race (11/4) vs Chelsea (8/11)?

Just a thought. Especially given what everyone was saying about the two sides just a month ago.

BIG SIX ENERGY

Brrr…illiance

Think of this as an extension of the Pub Ammo section.

🥶 COLE PALMER

1st player to score 4 goals before half-time in a Premier League.
2nd most goal involvements (43) in Europe’s top five leagues since joining Chelsea.
3rd Chelsea hat-trick – same as Drogba, Hasselbaink and Lampard.
10 penalties converted from 10 attempts. Only Yaya Toure has a better record (11/11).

That pass he made against Brighton would have been an all-time assist, not to mention a disallowed goal, a missed sitter and hitting the post. It genuinely could have been seven goals.

He enters a new conversation now. If not the best player in the League, surely the most in-form?

But don’t rush to put him in your FPL teams – Chelsea face a tough run of Forest, Liverpool, United, Newcastle and Arsenal…

“Yeah [Trent Alexander-Arnold] can play [at left-back]. Bukayo [Saka] can play there, Cole [Palmer] can play there, so there’s quite a few.”
