THE BIG FACTS

Pub Ammo

🧤 Inter Milan conceded just one goal in the Champions League league stage (8 games), but scored just 11 – more than just two of the 24 qualifying sides.

🇦🇷 Lautaro Martínez has scored in the last 16, quarter-finals and semi-finals. Only five players have scored in those stages plus the final in a season – Lampard (07/08), Milito (09/10), Messi in (10/11), Ronaldo in (13/14) and Mané in (17/18).

🤝 These two sides have NEVER met competitively before.

📈 PSG top the charts for shots (1,074), shots on target (450) and big chances (280) across all competitions in Europe.

🧓 Francesco Acerbi, for Inter Milan, could be the fourth-oldest outfield player ever to start a Champions League final (37 years, 110 days).

🇩🇪 The only time a French side has ever won the Champions League was Marseille in 1993… in Munich!

😮 And… each of the four Champions League Finals played in Munich have seen a first-time winner. Chelsea fans will remember!

Our tips are marginally down across the season after settling the ante-post bets. But tonight, we’ve got a chance to end up on top for the season.

And this is a very strong fancy!

THE BIG OPINION

Saints, omens and possession

PSG average 60% possession in the Champions League this season — and even higher in Ligue Un, unsurprisingly.

Inter Milan, by contrast, sit at just 47% — despite winning 10 of their 14 matches.

Context is key. They won five consecutive games by just a 1-0 margin.

This is not a team that enjoys trading blows — as we saw in both semi-final legs.

They got away with it against Barca. And to be fair, the same criticism could’ve been levelled at the Spaniards had they gone through. But Inter will revert to type tonight. Finals are different.

We expect PSG to dominate possession, pinging the ball side-to-side until Dembélé, Doué, or Barcola can isolate a full-back. We'd be shocked if they don’t end up with significantly more corners. They will come naturally.

Inter, meanwhile, won't mind sitting deep. They'll look to break fast down the flanks, as they did so effectively against Barcelona. The difference? PSG won’t leave the same high line — and they’re simply a better side.

So both sides will be comfortable in the complicity of their set-ups. PSG to control. Inter to counter.

Sounds like the perfect stylistic match-up!

If you’re looking for our verdict: We’d back Paris at any odds-against price inside 90 minutes.

And wouldn't it be poetic if the club whose name borrows from Germany — Saint-Germain — wins their first Champions League title in Munich?

As we said in Pub Ammo: the omens are all there…
