THE BIG OPINION

The Mid Six
We’re getting into “they’re already on the beach” territory with some of the teams this season.
In fact, you can pretty much silo off 11th to 16th, and say that those clubs really have nothing to play for in the League, but pride. Just ask, Ruben (see his quote below).
Brentford, Palace, Spurs, United, West Ham, Everton.
Maybe we’ll call them 'The Mid Six’.
Despite signs of form among them, we suspect their intensity will drop as the season unwinds.
(While Palace are the 3rd most in form side in the League, they look destined to finish between 10th and 15th for the 13th consecutive season. They won’t keep this up.)
This is a very inexact science, BUT there’s a feeling that those are the games where you’re probably going to pick up more points than ordinarily expected. Especially towards the end of the season.
Looking at the race for the top four, Newcastle, Forest and Bournemouth still have to play five of those six sides. As well as Ipswich and Leicester.
Chelsea only get to face just three of them, yet are odds-on.
We’re still against them in the race for the top four.
Newcastle would still be our shout at 3/1 with SpreadEx.
THE BIG FANTASY

Fasting and furious
It’s Ramadan this month.
Someone did a bit of a dive into Salah’s G/A during Ramadan over the years. 👇
Does fasting slow down your output?
The data below might sway you one way or another on the Salah captaincy conundrum...
Someone mentioned Salah and Ramadan to me the other day so I thought I'd share what I looked up.
I didn't bother going fully in depth about gaps between games, how important the matches were etc.
