IN-THE-INBOX: A 2-MIN READ

We predicted chaos in the North London Derby and it delivered.

Aussie coach Ange Postecoglu has had a tough time against his London Neighbours, losing Home and Away to Arsenal and Chelsea in the past fortnight. 🇦🇺

Next up is Liverpool this Sunday.

Perhaps this will be the time the Aussie rules..?

THE BIG FACTS

Pub Ammo

💥 Nicolas Jackson has scored more goals (11) than Drogba (10) in their debut Premier League seasons. (Also, after five yellow cards in his first six games, he’s had zero in his last ten)

😂 Crystal Palace will finish the PL season with somewhere between 40-49 points for the 11th consecutive time. Mid.

☔️ Spurs last Sunday became the first side to open the scoring with an own-goal vs the same team three consecutive times (vs Arsenal).

⚽️ Notts Forest had more shots than Man City in both of their Premier League games this season. They are the first team in Premier League history to do this to a Pep Guardiola side!

🔝 Mikel Arteta is now the 5th quickest manager to 100 Premier League wins, after the holy quartet of Pep, José, Jurgen and Sir Alex. (He’s ahead of Arsène though)

THE BIG TIPS

Crystal clear

BEST BET
👉 Crystal Palace +0.25 (Asian handicap) @ 11/10
Palace are getting better and better and will relish this Monday night fixture under the Selhurst lights against a shambolic Man United.

STAT BET
👉 Virgil van Dijk under 70.5 passes @ 5/6
How many centre-backs have had more than 70 passes against Spurs this season? Zero. There’s only one player in any position for any team who has done so: Rodri.

TREBLE @ 2/1
West Brom to win
Leicester to win
Ipswich to win

THE BIG OPINION

Looking Around Premier League GIF by Liverpool FC

Awards Season

With some end-of-season awards already being dished out, we’ve got a bold shout for manager of the season.

There is no ‘correct’ answer, although Unai Emery has the most obvious claim – the 4th-place finish Aston Villa are about to nestle into is an absurd achievement for a manager who couldn’t even get over the Champions League line with Arsenal.

Then you’ve got Iraola, O’Neill and Glasner. All outperforming the odds.

However, the dark horse – and you may laugh at the irony – is Jurgen Klopp.

It’s his last season. A season that appears to be petering out. And he ONLY won a Carabao Cup.

But memories can lie.

If you rewind to the start of the season, Liverpool were a shade of odds-on to finish in the top four (!). Virgil van Dijk and Salah were waning, they’d rebuilt half their midfield, and last season was piss-poor (5th with 67 points).

Almost nobody gave them a chance of winning the title – which we can corroborate by looking at all your top six predictions.

Instead, they’ve made this season’s title race a unique three-way, against all the odds.

Love him or loathe him, Jurgen is a legend and a massive loss to the League.

Manager of the season? Hmm. Manager of the decade? Maybe.

THE BIG DEAL

premier league football GIF by Arsenal

Mad Jens

On the 20th Anniversary of their unbeaten season, Jens Lehmann has bought the branding rights to the phrase ‘The Invincibles’, with support from his Arsenal brothers, including 28 players and 12 staff members (including Arsène Wenger).

Everyone is involved… bar the actual club, who can no longer use the phrase!

Rest assured, Arsenal™️, Jens is a famously safe pair of hands and promises that all proceeds from usage will go to charity. 👏

THE BIG WSL

Shaw thing

The WSL is being torn apart by a striker called ‘Bunny’.

Khadija Shaw earned her nickname after eating loads of carrots when she was younger – as you do.

But, as it turns out, carrots don’t just make you see in the dark…

Bunny has had a sensational season, topping the scoring charts and winning the Football Writers’ Association Player Of The Year award (alongside Phil Foden), making it a double for City!

On that note, can anyone think of a name for Phil..?

THE BIG QUOTE

“We’re one of the most dynamic and entertaining teams in the League at this moment. We’re creating loads of chances by playing football.

Erik Ten Hag, Man United coach
